Family Post: Sebastian at the Carnival

A highlight of this summer was spending some good quality time with our one-year-old grandson, Sebastian. Way back in the first week of August we went to the carnival that comes in connection with the Omak Stampede rodeo.

One of the funnest things to do with little kids is to introduce them to classic experiences for the first time. Like riding a Ferris wheel. He liked it.

He also found a Merry-go-round ride well worth the price of the ticket.

And you can't beat the thrill of pure gravity.

But his favorite ride was the Flying Dragon. After his first ride we went on to other things, but he kept running back over to stand in line for another ride on the Flying Dragon. Which he got, of course. Or was it three rides? After all, we're his grandparents, not his parents.

He already knew how to put away curly fries at a championship pace.

We were glad to see Sebastian enjoying the exotic delights of the carnival, but we were also gratified, when we found a swing set, to see him give himself up to the sheer, unadulterated joy of some good old-fashioned swinging.
