Drake Or Hex? Hex Or Drake?
Click on photos for full size image.
Couldn't rest.
Went back to Dick Pobst and the
Streamside Guide to Trout Stream Insects
. The
Hexagenia Limbata
--aka the Hex--has unmarked wings and two tails.
The Brown Drake
--
Ephemera simulans
--has blotched wings and three tails.
These are Brown Drakes
, not Hexes.
Glad we could clear that up.
