What I saw

It was one of those things that make you stop and think of what we're all missing all the time in this big, wonderful world. I was outside tonight looking into the clear, moonlit sky, and a bat wheeled past me. And I saw it, for one fleeting moment: moonlight through the translucent membrane of a bat's wings.
