The river rose above 17 feet on Tuesday morning.
By 8:15 Tuesday evening it was at 17.13 feet. It is supposed to crest at 17.2 feet sometime Wednesday, and then begin to slowly drop. But It won't likely drop below flood stage (15.0 feet) until at least Sunday.
We're still hoping levels will be conducive to flats fishing by the weekend. I even got a great tip from High Plains Fly Fisher. He says, "In that high water an egg pattern or a SJ worm placed in front of ole rubber lips would probably do the trick."
That's from someone who knows. Thanks! I'll definitely try them if the muddler doesn't work.
