"Moon," by Annie Finch

(I took this photo on Sunday night of an amazing moonlit sky. Then I found this poem by Annie Finch. They seem to be the perfect accompaniment to each other. I don't know much about Annie Finch, but I love this poem, and I love her name. I hope to learn more.)

Then are you the dense everywhere that moves,
the dark matter they haven't yet walked through?

No, I’m not. I’m just the shining sun,
sometimes covered up by the darkness.

But in your beauty—yes, I know you see—
There is no covering, no constant light.
