Over the Pass and To the Coast

I took a road trip to Olympia today because of a meeting near here tomorrow. I came with my friend Pat because he's going to the meeting, too, and because Olympia is his hometown, and because he was willing to drive his Prius.

It was chilly at home, warm and flowery here.

We went down to The Docks, which is at the southernmost tip of Puget Sound.

The State Capitol Building is right there.

Every Friday evening the area attracts lots of people, some playing music...

Some exercising their right to protest.

On this International Women's Day, I was moved by the Women in Black who have maintained a silent vigil for peace on this spot for years.

We strolled the boardwalk until the sun went down.

Then we walked into town and had hipster food for supper.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the city lights.
