Something's In the Air

There was a stink bug in my office this morning. There were Redwinged blackbirds making a racket in the trees outside.

The snow outside our house is almost gone. The ice on Bass Lake is rotten.

It's beginning to come apart in one long crack that now divides the lake in two.

A small but faithful flock of swans has returned to the lakeside. They are waiting where they know the feeder springs are creating the first open water.

The sun is working its magic even when clouds persist. The air was an unseasonably mild 49 degrees in town on Thursday.

It's expected to break 50 degrees at Rocky Ford on Friday....
