River Report: The Wish to Emulate Kingfishers

Back to the river today. It was a beautiful afternoon and evening, rainy when I got there--the mountain's head swathed in cloud--then clearing off for the quarter moon.
Probed the bridge run then waded up to the glide and made a couple passes.
Sky full of hawks.
Got a small fish bump on the Owl Leech, and one on the Flash Back Pheasant Tail. Nothing on the Eggish Nymph or the Black Brush. Two more to try next time.
Waded back at dusk with moon shards glittering at every step.
Kingfishers flashing up and downriver rattling their call the whole time I was there. Bet they caught some fish.
