In a landscape as immense as the Canadian Rockies, it takes a human figure to help set the scale. In the LAND OF EMPERORS, the mountains rule. And while humans may appear tiny and insignificant, their experience venturing into that landscape is far from meaningless. The journey promises new perspective. From the striking geometry of precipitous peaks forming Canada's hydrological divide to the vastness of retreating icefields and glaciers, it can be an inspiring experience for anyone wandering through this region. This short film reminds us of the striking beauty of the Canadian Rockies and our place, as humans, within those magnificent peaks.

Shot in the beautiful mountain parks of Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. Over 80 miles and 20,000+ feet of elevation gain were traveled on foot to collect these visuals. Primary locations include Kananaskis Country, Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, Kootenay National Park and Mt. Robson Provincial Park. To comply with current regulations, the quadcopter was not operated within the national parks.

Some people may think that Dolly Varden are undesirable, but we set out to find some of the largest most beautiful 'char' in existence. Breath taking views and gin clear water, we found what we were looking for, but it wasn't easy. Getting dropped off by bush plane to float miles of river in search of these beauties was an experience in and of itself.

Human Nature 4K

Director Amon Barker grew up exploring the mountains, valleys, and desserts of New Mexico and developed a passion for the outdoors. He was drawn to photography in order to share his experiences with the landscape. Along the way he met others with a similar connection to the environment even when living very different lives.

When we came up with the concept for the Human Nature short it was very simple. We wanted to create powerful images of the natural world that would remind viewers of their connection to the land and it's personal meaning to them. We hit the road on a series of production road trips and the story of the edit unfolded through our journey. None of us will forgot the moments along the way.

Living in the PNW definitely has its perks. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this beautiful area. From the age of 17, I have been traveling across the Pacific Northwest taking timelapse. This is a compilation of the 10,000+ photos shot over the last 2 years throughout countless backpacking and camping trips. 

This world was so beautifully created, and it reflects our God in every aspect.

I hope that by watching this video you are inspired to think about these questions: What is beauty? What separates us from other creatures to marvel at sunsets, sunrises, mountains and waterfalls? Was this really created for us to enjoy?

TEMPUS FUGIT 2 , the sequel of my first timelapse movie „Tempus Fugit“ (https://vimeo.com/69844748) took me three years to shoot. I was visiting a lot of popular and well known places around the world but quite remote and deserted spots, too, in the last three years. Sometimes I had to hike for hours with heavy equipment to come to the spots. You will find locations in Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and USA (California, Utah, Washington, Oregon).
The final movie consists of roughly 6.500 frames and had been cut out of 100 timelapse sequences with more than 30.000 frames altogether.
I am quite happy to have the exceptionally gifted composer Phil Rey on board again with his epic masterpiece „Lion Heart“.

Winterscapes Norway/In the Land of the Northern Lights

Intended to capture the beauty of the Lofoten Islands I stayed at Svolvaer for 20 days. I was lucky to see often moderate Noordernlights the first two weeks and fantastic ones the last week!
Everything is captured between februari and march 2012. The period of 3 weeks was dicided by pure gambling on clear nightskies and much aurora. The result was 8 nights showing me beatifull aurora's. One night the lights were everywhere for hours.

Ok folks, this is it. Here is my first video project.

It is a video of the Northern Lights created using stills (stop motion). All sequences are shot in or close to Tromsø in Northern Norway.

I have spent over 6months collecting footage for this, I have shot approx 50.000 stills to choose from in making this video. A goal for me has been to try to preserve the real-time speed of the northern lights, or come as close as possible, and present it the way I experienced it, instead of the northern lights just flashing over the sky in the blink of an eye. It may work on other time-lapse videos with fast moving clouds and sunsets etc, but with the northern lights in focus, it should be presented in it's true speed to reflect her beauty, imo. In the video I have put together a collection of slow moving auroras in the woods, over the mounatins, in the city, in the foreshore, reflected in the sea, with some of the most spectacular and strongest auroral outbreaks seen in many years. Included here is a coronal outbreak, in which I am particularly happy to present, since it is very difficult to get on stills, even worse on "film".

I got a fantastic soundtrack made for the video by local musical talent in Tromsø; Per Wollen. A Huge thanks goes to you Per obviously!

Undisturbed Places

There are places in the world where stars are the only source of light. Their singularity is breathtaking, inclines to reflection and becomes the root of inspiration. Places like that are usually unspoiled, natural and intact. These are the places where humans live in symbiosis with nature.
Namibia is one of the few places on Earth with the lowest light pollution. There are national parks there where the light pollution is reduced to zero. That’s why it has become a hotspot for astronomy photographers like myself.
"Undisturbed Places" is a project made in Namibia and Botswana during Namib & Kalahari Desert Astroexpedition, organized by Safra-Go. Taking part in a month-long journey, I was able to collect 2TB of timelapse footage. What you are about to watch is a selection of the most beautiful locations I was able to film.

ARCTIC shows the freezing and at the same time the beautiful conditions that Finnish winter has to offer. I’ve never had the time to work on bigger projects during winter, so this film consists of different sequences filmed during current and last winter. The clips are filmed in: Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, Riisitunturi National Park, Kivesvaara and Paltaniemi.

Four Hours

'Four Hours' is a timelapse series depicting Iceland's unbelievably short, but incredibly beautiful winter days - four hours is the average amount of time the sun shines during this coldest season of the year. This series was shot during one week at multiple locations throughout Iceland during the month of January, 2016.

In 2015 Overland Collective photographer Eric Hanson traveled the Andean spine of South America, from Ecuador to Patagonia. For seven months, he traveled almost entirely solo, via a mixture of public transportation, trekking, and a Great Wall Wingle (if you don't know what that is, it's the finest vehicle known to man). Along the way, he took a few hundred thousand photos.
